Catch-All Container Keepers
Candy Keepers~Container Dolls~5 variations
Designed by Deanna Hogan
This fun and easy project is a versatile creation. Use for a catch-all, candy, mail, fabric scraps in your craft room and much more! Designed to be made from woven fabrics. Instructions include several variations. The bowl is made from a plastic gallon milk jug, covered and lined in fabric ? a great way to recycle. Use contrasting or complementary fabrics.
The eyes are simple buttons, the mouths embroidered. There are three head styles included in the pattern: a head with a slightly exaggerated chin (appropriate for the witch or scarecrow), the basic round head (good for Annie or Scarecrow), and a head with the profile nose (for the Santa and Girl) ? with some light needle sculpting. There are two hand types. One template has fingers ? with the finger divisions to be stitched by hand or machine. The other template is for a basic mitt hand. Use almost any fiber for hair: raffia, yarn, wool locks, mohair, jersey weaving loops, silk leaves or flowers, knitted eyelash yarn, etc. The finished doll may be further embellished with lace, ribbons, buttons, or seasonal decorations
