Walter is an elderly elf, probably around 400 years old, so he has lots of wrinkles and character. He sits about 14" high - although if he were standing he?d be a bit taller! He is in a fixed sitting position. Walter involves using a method I?ve worked out involving a two-way stretch mask over the face of a head made from woven fabric; this not only hides the front seam but also allows use of shaped stuffing to construct the face, adding it between the two ?skins?, then stitching it into place to build up features. Walter also has a bald head, as part of the two-way stretch mask.
Walter has long, gnarled fingers, which are also made by shaping the stuffing inside the skin. He is fully needle sculpted and sits on a log which is made from muslin or any woven fabric and then free-machine-embroidered and embellished to give texture. He also has a little frog friend sharing his log, which is also part of the class. This class will be 6 lessons and will have step by-step easy-to-follow instructions, diagrams and photographs.
This class is a wonderful opportunity to learn advanced needle modeling. Although beginners are welcome to take this class, it might be challenging.
