This class is the culmination of two years worth of design work to teach intermediate to advanced doll makers how to create a realistic, doable, portrait-style child doll, approximately 19? tall.

You will learn how to construct my one, universal body pattern and create nearly limitless posing possibilities for your doll. You will learn how to choose and adapt a photograph or drawing and turn it into a tool for sculpting a likeness of your chosen facial image in Creative Paperclay. This class will cover every aspect of bringing the realistic doll body in cloth and Creative Paperclay face together to make a nude portrait-style child doll. (Costuming patterns and tutorials are being written and will be available in the next few months.) You will learn how to sculpt, paint, and finish your doll. This class finishes up by teaching you eight different wigging styles for male and female dolls using everything from Tibetan lamb, wool roving, mohair, yarns, ribbon or paperclay

The class follows the construction of seven different portrait-style dolls with full color photographs, drawings and text. By the time you have completed this class, you will know how to create a wide variety of lifelike child dolls for display or gentle play (14 years and up).
