Pillow Form Figure

Pillow Form Figure with Jessica Acosta
Create an elegant marriage between soft fiber and lean sculpture in this take on the classic stump doll form.

  • Learn to build your own fabric armature that supports a sculpted torso.
  • Create a face (molded), and learn how to correct any imperfections and personalize the molded face. Attaching the face to the armature is new and unique.
  • You will create a torso and arms in polymer clay.
  • Embellish her fabric skirt using fibers and appliqu?.
  • Learn hair, costuming and finishing techniques for three different doll variations.
  • The design possibilities are endless with this doll form and this workshop will take you through it step by step in five lessons with detailed pictures.

A face mold of 1" high by 3/4" wide is needed for this class. Or you can sculpt your own face if you know how to!

Instructor Bio: Jessica Acosta Hamilton of Doll Project

I create doll-like forms and love to push the idea of the doll by hybridizing the human figure with unusual elements such as teapots, gazebos or road cones. I have taught at art retreats throughout the United States, including workshops for Portland?s Art & Soul over the last five years. I have sculpted in polymer and epoxy clays for over a decade. I am excited to be a part of Doll Street Dreamers and I am looking forward to helping you make dolls!
