Lady Anise class

Lady Anise Eugenia Potts

with Angela Jarecki

Meet Lady Anise Eugenia Potts! She is a cloth doll that measures over 30? tall standing. For our class, we will be posing her in a seated position. I think because of her size, she is a particularly fun doll to make, whatever your skill level.
One of the reasons that I made her taller than I normally make dolls is so that there is the ability to do some things with costuming that would be difficult on a smaller doll. For one thing she has layers and layers.....and layers of skirting and pantaloons! In class you will have the chance to add beading and other types of embellishment to each layer, and even incorporate some fun folding techniques into your costuming! Because her costuming is very layered, she is the perfect doll to experiment with when it comes to choosing different fabrics. Anything from double-knit, satin, cotton, raw silk and upholstery weight will work wonderfully on her.
One other feature of Lady Anise, is that she has jointed arms and legs, which allows a variety of ways to pose her.
We will make her a wonderfully, whimsical and removable hat that we will build over cardboard and embellish.
Here face is lightly needle sculpted, covered with cotton and hand colored. This is a five week class and as with all my classes, feel free to work at your own pace!
