Alice Return to Wonderland Class
Alice - Souvenirs from Wonderland
with Angela Jarecki Alice has been through the looking glass and back....and on her way back home she stopped in the Wonderland gift shop and bought a plush white rabbit and a replica of the Mad Hatter?s very own hat!
If you can?t take pictures, souvenirs are the next best thing!
My favorite book in the world when I was a little girl was a book that had Alice in Wonderland on one side, and then if you turned the book over, it had Peter Pan on the other side! I can?t tell you how many times I had the book read to me, or read it myself. I still have the book....much worn, but dearly loved!
In our 4 week class we will start by constructing Alice and posing her. Then we will make her lovely, layered costume from odds and ends of fabrics and lace. We will also make her little plush rabbit companion and her Mad Hatter?s hat! (The hat is so much fun!)
She is a lot of fun to make....not too large, not to small. And her layered costuming leaves lots of opportunities for embellishment.
She is approximately 11? tall seated....and is about 15 inches if she were standing.
She has a lightly needle-sculpted face and hand colored features.
She is a great doll for beginners, but also interesting enough for the seasoned doll maker.
So, if you would like to take your own journey through the looking glass, join me and we will make Alice: Souvenirs from Wonderland!
