Doll Street is happy to offer the following classes:

Angela Jarecki teaching:

Enkai Nou-Mermaid of memories

During this 5-week class you will learn and put into practice a little color theory, dying cloth, basic construction of the mermaid, including needle sculpting and embellishment.  You will also learn to 'skin' a needle sculpted head.

Kathryn Walmsley teaching:

Cloth Body Design

Tired of patching together pieces of various patterns to create your original ideas? In this class we will learn how to create simple or complex cloth bodies in static or animated positions to get just the body you want.   Your body may be used with your sculpted doll parts or your favorite cloth heads and hands.   Class starts May 18th.

Imagine Collage

Take your doll making skills in a new direction.  Learn to make complicated looking backgrounds, transfer forms using pre-made templates, and more.  Canvas or cloth.  7 lessons in all.  Class starts May 9th.

Baby Fae

Spring is here and things are going to be hatching soon.  Including baby fairies!  Bring one to life yourself.  Two different pattern sizes, needle sculpting, face painting, and more. Six lessons will show you how. Class starts May 2nd.

Triple Trouble Dragon Necklace

Learn polymer clay jewelry making.  Class will cover the entire process of mixing colors, working out composition and design, sculpting, and assembling this art jewelry piece. This class will show you how to incorporate beaded accents to your polymer clay work.  All the finishing touches to make the necklace will also be covered

Make the ruler of the jungle!  Needle-sculpting, armature making, trimming, embellishment, everything you need to know to create your own King Purr-sha.

Spring Fairy Pincushion

An 11 inch Fairy Pincushion who will hold your needles, straight pins, bobbins, scissors, buttons and more.  While creating your Fairy Pincushion, you will learn several fun techniques using fabric, paper towels, apoxie sculpt, paper clay and more.  They make fun gifts for family and friends.

Beaded Icons

Learn about icons and what they can mean to you.  Learn basic techniques to create small beaded icons.  Class starts April 11th.

Judy Skeel teaching:

The Harpy

The Harpy is a hybrid creature from Greek Mythology. This doll is half cloth woman, half Apoxie Sculpt vulture and free standing to measure 8 to 12 inches in height. You will learn cloth over cloth, needle sculpting, creating an armature for the sculpted half of the body, gorgeous wings,wigging, and so much more. Class starts April 4th.

This fun class contains many colour photos and detailed instructions, guiding you each step of the way, showing how to make unlimited variations of these gorgeous dolls just by using 3 basic patterns and many embellishing techniques.

                       Cloth Overlay Technique

This mini-class will teach you how to skin a face so the center seam line does not show.  You will learn how to add additional shape to the face as you stuff between the layers.  Needle sculpting and painting is also covered.

Angela Jarecki teaching:

Windows

In this class you will cover techniques that will help you capture the likeness of a favorite person or photo by using a technique of looking for "darks vs. lights" on a face. It will also cover how to convincingly draw people from various ethnic groups using this method. You will also learn different methods of quilting to show off your face.  Bonus lesson: Needle case.

All of our classes are conducted via private Yahoo Groups.  Once enrolled you will have one central location to download the class files, interact with other class members and the teacher, plus browse and upload your photos of in- progress and finished works.  This is a new direction for Doll Street but an exciting one - you will get all the help you need to learn the new system.

It is Doll Street policy that there are no refunds once class starts.
