How to make fairy wings

This tutorial is brought to you by Velia Antila, ©2007

- Place organza over baker's  parchment or waxed paper.

- Make the wings from copper wire  and cover with metallic paint on one side.  (Do not worry if it gets on both sides).  Holding the wing with a long nose pliers at the joint edge, place carefully on the organza. Secure with food cans or something heavy on top.

- Repeat with other  wing.

- Let dry  overnight.

- Remove cans and with pointed very sharp scissors cut around the wings. It's all right if you leave less than 1/8"of organza around the edges.

- Turn the wing over and paint  this side with the metallic paint used on the front  side.

- Place on baker's parchment and  let dry. If needed go over the area that needs more glittery  paint.

- When completely dry mark the veins with a Micron  pen, or with Elmer's glue and  glitter.
