NOTE- To make sure that the doll pin BODY template measures the correct size when printed out fplease measure as follows: The Body Template  ( the lower one which has NO face drawn on it ) measure from drawn line of tip of head to lower tip of body, exactly 4 inches. Enlarge as needed.

Supplies
Sewing/craft supplies
1” long pin back, Nymo thread
Scrap of Pimatex fabric for face
7”x7” piece of fabric for body
Poly Stuffing, bit of white cardboard
2 hand & a foot charms
Charm with a saying on it ie. Imagine
Prismacolor pencil & Pigma pens .005
20 ga. Colored wire & wire curler
Assorted beads size 11/0

1.  Position 2 pieces of body fabric with right sides facing out (wrong sides together). Trace body onto fabric and sew all around on the drawn line. Cut out leaving a 1/8 seam allowance. Cut a ½” slit in rear and stuff body softly to give it some form. Sew slit closed.

2. Trace the head template B onto white cardboard and cut out. Trace the face template C and trace face drawing onto Pimatex fabric. Color face as you wish and set colors with Workable Spray Fixatif. Cut out face circle following drawn line. Sew a gathering stitch 1/8” in from raw edge. Pull gathering thread together, drawing face cloth over, around and behind the cardboard Piece B. Secure with knot. Ladder stitch face in position onto head as shown in sketch. Bead or ribbon embellish around the circumference of the face.

3. Thread needle with single thread of Nymo. Knot the end and secure thread at dot A by sewing front to back twice. With thread exiting body at A thread on 5 to 6 size 11 seed beads. Thread on a foot charm and 5/6 more seed beads. Pass needle back into A and secure thread at back. Bring needle through A to front and attach the second foot as before. Sew or glue on the two hands in position as suggested in the sketch. Perhaps you would like to have the hands hold a charm with a meaningful word or saying inscribed on it such as “ dream, imagine, I love you, success, survivor, I can do that.”

4. Twist and curl several different lengths of wire adding beads between some curled sections. Put a dab of glue on each end and pierce fabric of head with the wire ends at positions that add whimsy and unique character to your doll to convey it’s personality or special message.
Sew pin back on to rear of doll very securely with Nymo at about shoulder height.
These dolls will make meaningful gifts to a dear friend or loved one battling a serious health challenge, celebrate becoming a grandparent, a job promotion, favorite teacher, beloved friend, sister grandmother and do not forget about yourself!
Enjoy the pleasure of making this doll as I did creating it. --fondly, Marcia potdfrog@bellsouth.net - www.pottedfrog.com
