Back to School

I certainly feel like I’ve gone back to school! Some of you may know that Judi has handed the reins of Doll Street over to me, Edwina Sutherland. I promise to carry on as she has left off and do my very best to bring you the best in e-patterns and online doll making classes!

I’ve been learning so much the last few weeks and there is more to learn. it’s good for the brain, right? Mine is certainly getting a workout!

e-pattern by judy skeel for doll streetThis is the newest pattern in the Pattern shop. It’s called Paisley Praise, by Judy Skeel of With Love from Skeelhaven.  Paisley Praise is named for one of the 8 fabrics used to create her gorgeous Renaissance style dress with bell sleeves. Her tattered wings are made of cotton “feathers” on pose-able wire. Paisley is kneeling with her arms out stretched and eyes closed giving thanks for all her blessings.  A variation, Lady Paisley, can be made with no wings, posed seated with her hands in her lap.  Step-by-step instructions are included for needle-sculpting and face painting techniques, in addition to creating this lovely doll body and costume. While kneeling, Paisley measures approximately 12″ in tall. This pattern is suitable for intermediate to advanced dollmakers and intermediate sewers, who can sew on a line and make tiny curves.
