You don't have to be a member to take a class; they are open to the public.

Michelle Munzone teaching:

Orsino - a 14" Marionette

A fun and elaborately embellished cloth marionette.  Learn to place inset acrylic eyes, how to make the headpiece, doll construction and painting of the doll, plus how to string him.

Angela Jarecki teaching:

Everything but the Kitchen Sink

Do you ever feel uncreative? Do you have a hard time finishing things? Do you find it easier to think about projects you’d like to do, as opposed to actually doing them? Do you want to create your own designs, but are a bit uncertain how to proceed?  If you answered "yes" to any of those questions .... then this class may be for you!

In this class you will not be making a particular doll, but through a series of different, fun exercises, that will stretch your creative muscle, you will make 3 dolls: one from a pattern that I will provide (that you will put together however you please!!!!), plus two others that I will explain that later.

Christi Friesen teaching:

Beautiful Bouquet Necklace

Make yourself a stunning bouquet necklace!  You will go through the entire process of mixing colors, working out composition and design, sculpting, and assembling this art jewelry piece.  Of course, if you prefer to use the floral details on a mirror, vessel, or wall piece instead of jewelry, that will be covered too! This class will show you how to incorporate beaded accents to your polymer clay work and all the finishing touches to make the necklace will be covered.

Spring Fairy

Six lessons will teach you how to create this absolutely delightful fairy made from Craft Velour. Needle sculpting of head, hands and feet. Wings and more.  She can be made as either a 25" or 16" doll.

Nissa

An incredibly detailed class that will make a 28" tall doll featuring mosaic work, working with Aves Apoxy Sculpt, burning fabric with a soldering iron, simple costuming, wings, wigging, plus Natalie's fabulous face painting technique.

Five lessons will teach you to make this fabulously male creation.  He has inset acrylic eyes and eyelids, hand and leg armature, needle sculpting of the head and hands, and of course, an absolutely outrageous outfit!

Soul Whisperer

Five lessons will teach you to make dainty toes, polymer shoes, an opposable thumb, a mini shrine, a stool, and of course the all cloth 21" tall doll herself.  Special emphasis will be placed on drawing, sculpting, and coloring the face.

An 11 inch Fairy Pincushion who will hold your needles, straight pins, bobbins, scissors, buttons and more.  While creating your Fairy Pincushion, you will learn several fun techniques using fabric, paper towels, apoxie sculpt, paper clay and more.  They make fun gifts for family and friends.

Wonder how to add character to a cloth doll face? Iif so, this is the mini-class for you! There are many techniques available for sculpting cloth faces, I will cover sculpting of the eyes, mouth, lips, nose and eyelids, including painting the face.

                       Cloth Overlay Technique

This mini-class will teach you how to skin a face so the center seam line does not show.  You will learn how to add additional shape to the face as you stuff between the layers.  Needle sculpting and painting is also covered.

Windows

In this class you will cover techniques that will help you capture the likeness of a favorite person or photo by using a technique of looking for "darks vs. lights" on a face. It will also cover how to convincingly draw people from various ethnic groups using this method. You will also learn different methods of quilting to show off your face.  Bonus lesson: Needle case.

All of our classes are conducted via private Yahoo Groups.  Once enrolled you will have one central location to download the class files, interact with other class members and the teacher, plus browse and upload your photos of in- progress and finished works. 
REFUND POLICY:  It is Doll Street policy that there are no refunds once you have been enrolled in the classroom and have access to all the lessons.  Exception is made if you have taken the class before and didn't realize when you signed up for it.  Verification of attendance will be made with the teacher. Refunds will be given prior to lessons being posted.
